Principles
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES
Sacred Scripture-We firmly embrace and accept the books of the Old and New Testaments as divinely inspired and inerrant in their original autographs, and we embrace and accept every dogma, doctrine, and definition of the universal Church with regard to the purport of these books.
Creation-We profess that God, the origin and end of all things, can be known with certainty by the natural light of reason from the created world (see Rom. 1:19), that is, from the visible works of creation, as a cause from its effects, and that, therefore, his existence is clearly demonstrated. Therefore, we reject the theories of evolution as contradicting the witness of Sacred Scripture that the universe, including Man, was created in six literal days as commonly understood, and that creation was ex nihilo.
Divine Acts-We accept and acknowledge the external proofs of revelation, that is, divine acts, miracles and prophecies as signs of the divine origin of Christianity.
Divine Institution-We believe with firm faith that the Church, the guardian and teacher of the Word of the Lord, was personally instituted by the real and historical Jesus Christ when he lived among us, and that the Church was built upon the testimony of his life, teachings, passion, death, and resurrection for the sins of whosoever will believe in him.
Apostolic Succession-We believe in the historic succession of the Apostles (Apostolic Succession), and in the authority of those successors (the bishops) to shepherd, guide, teach, and ordain for the duration of time.
Doctrinal Continuity-We sincerely hold that the doctrine of the Christian faith was handed down to us from the apostles through the orthodox Church Fathers in exactly the same meaning and always in the same purport and embraced by the Undivided Church.
Theological Error-Therefore, we entirely reject the heretical misrepresentation that dogmas evolve and change from one meaning to another, changing with culture, academia, or any other way, making it different from the one which the Church held previously. We also condemn every error according to which, in place of the divine deposit of truth which has been given to the Church to be carefully guarded by her, there is put a philosophical figment, political ideology, or other product of a human conscience that has gradually been developed by human effort and will continue to develop indefinitely. Likewise, we reject any method of judging and interpreting Sacred Scripture which, departing from the Apostolic Tradition of the Church, embraces the misrepresentations of Liberals, Modernists, Rationalists, Humanists, Higher Critics, and with no prudence or restraint adopts textual criticism as the one and supreme norm.
Faith is Logical-We hold with certainty and sincerely confess that faith is not a blind sentiment of religion arising from emotions or under the impulse of sentimentalism, but rather, faith is a genuine assent of the intellect to truth received by hearing from an authoritative source. By this assent, because of the authority of the supremely truthful God, we believe to be true that which has been revealed and attested to by a personal God, our Creator and Lord.
Church Councils-Furthermore, with due reverence, we submit and adhere with our whole hearts to the condemnations, declarations, and all the prescripts contained in the witness of the Church Fathers and first four Councils of the Undivided Church.
Apostolic Tradition-We declare that we are completely opposed to the error of those who hold that there is nothing sacred or worthy in Apostolic Tradition as witnessed in the writings of the Ante-Nicene Fathers.
Life Issues-We stand firmly opposed to Euthanasia and Abortion as violations of the sixth commandment and an attack on the image of God in Man. We affirm that we will never offer the sacraments to any politician or layperson who manifestly supports such sins.
Family-We firmly hold that marriage is established by God as the foundation of human society and is only between one biological man and one biological woman. We firmly reject homosexuality, lesbianism, and all other deviations from the divine order of human relations as incompatible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, his Holy Church, and are grave sins. Likewise, any suggestion that someone is born the wrong gender or sex, and that the solution to this perceived defect is transgender medical intervention is an affront to nature, divine order, and the image of God in Man. Any medical or mental health professional, politician, clergy, or layman who lends support to such sins we assert that we will never allow to receive the sacraments of the Church.
Holiness-We believe that all Christians should live a life that does not bring reproach upon Christ. We are commanded to be separate from all apostasy, all worldly and sinful activities and associations, and to refrain from immodest behavior and attire. Women are commanded by Apostolic Tradition to have their heads covered in worship and preferably in all public spaces.
Feminism-We oppose all forms of Feminism as being an assault on the divine order of creation, an attempt to usurp the authority and role of men given to them by both nature and God, and an expression of political and spiritual revolution that is at odds with the gospel of Christ on all fronts. In keeping with Apostolic Tradition and divine order, we declare that women are not to be ordained, cannot be ordained validly, and should they attempt to agitate for any leadership role in Christ's Church, will be excommunicated immediately and not permitted to be welcomed back into fellowship until a significant period of penance has been completed and a public repudiation of Feminism in all forms is made.
